BOOKMOBILE

Bridgeport Public Library recently acquired a nearly new Bookmobile from the Seattle Public Library thanks to the generosity of the Aiello Foundation.

Currently the mobile branch is housed at the North Branch on Madison Ave. City Librarian Scott Hughes hopes to have the bookmobile hit the road by Feb. 15, 2008.

Senior centers, community centers, and remote neighborhoods will be the initial target for the new "library on wheels." Patrons will be able to browse a revolving collection of approx. 2,500 popular titles. DVD's, CD's and Playaways will also be on hand for check-out. Area residents will also be able to reserve library materials on the Internet beforehand and pick them up at the stop of their choice.

The Bookmobile is also handicapped accessible.

Keep an eye out for our newest Bport Branch!
