Pianist Raymond Buyniski was born in Bridgeport in 1939. He attended St. Charles School and Fairfield Preparatory School. Ray fondly recalls taking piano lessons locally with Marge Hull. After Fordham University he continued his studies at the Sherwood Music School in Chicago where he received a music degree at the bachelor's level. From Chicago, Raymond went to Hartt College of Music at the University of Hartford.

Raymond's original compositions have been performed in New York City, Chicago and Spain.

He often shares his love of music with the patrons of the Bridgeport Public Library, performing on the grand piano in the Burroughs-Saden Memorial Library's Fine Art Room.

In addition to his being a concert pianist, Raymond avidly cultivates orchids and he generously displays his green thumb at the Burroughs - Saden Circulation Desk.

Although the Burroughs-Saden Fine Arts room has temporarily cancelled performances due to water damage, the library looks forward to more of Raymond's concerts in the very near future.

Mr. Buyniski's performances are free to patrons, and listed in the library's calender.
